How to use this calculator
Net run rate (NRR) is commonly used to compare teams with the same points in a cricket competition. It looks at the difference between how quickly a team scores and how quickly its opponents score.
Formula: (Total runs scored × 6 ÷ Total balls faced) − (Total runs conceded × 6 ÷ Total balls bowled).
Competition-rule limitation: If a side is all out, many competitions treat it as having faced its full allotted overs. Interrupted and DLS-adjusted matches may use modified NRR accounting. Adjust your entered legal-ball totals according to the applicable competition rules. This simple calculator does not apply these exceptions automatically.
FAQs
How are all-out innings treated?
Consult the competition rules. Many competitions count the full allotted innings as used, even when a team is all out earlier.
Does a positive NRR guarantee qualification?
No. Points, tie-breakers, other teams’ results and competition rules also affect standings.
