How to use this calculator

Batting strike rate is a simple way to measure a batter’s scoring speed. It is particularly useful in shorter cricket formats, where teams often prioritize rapid scoring.

Formula: (Batter’s runs × 100) ÷ Balls faced. For example, 60 runs from 40 balls gives a strike rate of 150.00.

Strike rate does not describe every part of batting quality. Match situation, conditions, partnerships and the number of wickets remaining can also matter.

FAQs

Do wides count as balls faced?

Normally not. A wide is not a legal delivery, so it generally does not add a ball to the batter’s tally.

Can strike rate exceed 200?

Yes. Scoring two runs per ball on average produces a strike rate of 200.00.
